Research and Development

Outstanding research is the foundation of any successful pharmaceutical company and the lifeblood of its future. For every 5,000 to 10,000 chemicals screened, only one will become an approved medicine, and of those, only three in ten produce sales that match or exceed the average research and development costs.

Schering-Plough's Global Clinical Operations is at the heart of this work, conducting research both through its labs across Europe and the US and through a global clinical research network. We attract world-class scientists who wish to contribute to this important work; researchers who are passionate in their pursuit of innovative products that can provide doctors with the therapies they need to improve their patients' health.

In Australia and New Zealand, Schering-Plough's Global Clinical Operations team works on significant medical products in all four phases of clinical research, from the earliest trial work in humans through to post-marketing clinical work to support products that are already in use. We work across a range of therapeutic areas, with hospitals, researchers and clinicians in both Australia and New Zealand.
