Infertility

Falling pregnant is not always as easy or natural as you may expect. About one in every six couples will not succeed in conceiving within one year of regular unprotected intercourse – this is due to infertility.

Infertility affects both men and women almost equally. It is due to causes in the man in about 40 per cent of cases, and in the women in 35-40 per cent. The remaining cases are caused by problems in both partners. Overall, about 20 per cent of infertility problems remain unexplained even after complete medical evaluations.

Today there are a wide range of treatments and techniques available to improve fertility and the chances of conception. The choice of treatment will depend on the causes of the infertility, on personal circumstances and preferences and your doctor's recommendations.
